Dear Students, Parents, Guardians and Caregivers

Hard to believe but this will be my second last newsletter of 2024. Upcoming will be our annual Winter Concert and Art Show on Tuesday. Leadership is hosting Spirit Week, the Multi-cultural Club has 2 special days and Students’ Council is getting ready for Movie Night at Pearson featuring the holiday classic – Home Alone. So much to celebrate

This is Human Rights Week sponsored by the Social Justice and Multi-Cultural Clubs. The tickets for Pearson Movie Night featuring the Christmas Classic, Home Alone are on sale now.

Junior Boys defeat Nelson Mandela on Tuesday night on home court.

Of course, not to be outdone our senior boys also took their match against the United!

The Makers Fair was outstanding this year! There were so many creative and entrepreneurial students at Pearson. This event will return in the Spring!

We have tickets on sale for our Winter Concert and Art Show; as well as day two of Human Rights Week.

Our amazing Ms. Haynes with her Dance 15 class. They are working on their choreography and their final assessments.

The cookie dough has arrived. Lots of work sorting and getting orders ready for pick up.

Cake Club members have graduated from cupcakes to the real deal.

We had our final School Council / Parent Society meeting for 2024; we will be back at it again in 2025. Thank you to Chef Martin and his Culinary Crew for a wonderful supper. School Parent Council supported the PE Program last night with 70 pairs of Crampons so PE 20 can proceed with a winter hike. The two 3D Printers they supported us with last year have been instrumental in making parts for our 2 Robotic Teams.

PE 20 assembling their food items for their hostel trip early Thursday morning. Happy to say they all brought healthy ingredients, not a donut or twinkie insight.

Leadership selling treats to raise money for their PEP Rally next Friday. Here’s where one of the little critters was hiding for the Scavenger Hunt.

Gifts I bought and their makers. Thank you to all the student makers and staff and students who supported.

Bridge Foundation Mentorship Club celebrated the festive season. Glad to see a great turn out for our EAL students. There was food, crafts and gifts for everyone!!!

The last ATA Cooking Workshop for 2024. A grand repast to end a busy day.

Our junior team was in command Thursday night. They defeated Lacombe 68-33.

Our senior team battled hard but lost their match to the Lasers. They are a great team of athletes, and they will bounce back.

Our ALP students out with Mr. Bakos for some fresh air and short trek through Mother Nature.

Our amazing music students in the middle of their solos with guest pianist, Gavin.

Teacher Appreciation from Leadership, room service with a smile!!!

Constable Abbas gave a presentation to our EAL classes on Calgary Police Services and their work with community relationships and support.

New stain glass window for ALP designed by Saba and Saja. Ms. Pham and Ms. Ferros took our international students out for a round of bowling to celebrate the semester.

Medal winners at the Crescent Wrestling Tournament this past weekend. Congrats to coaches Tardif, Kleinitz, Hayden, team members and trainers.

When you are calling in late or absent for your student, call 403-280-6565 and press 1 for the Attendance line. Please give the following information: Spell your student’s first name and last name, give their grade, and reason for absence or lateness and a contact number that we have in MyCBE.

Athletics

Please note that Student ID is required for entry to all basketball games. PowerSchool or pictures of your school ID is not permitted.

Attendance will be checked at the door. Students who skipped classes will not be admitted to the games. Only students and family members of the competing schools will be allowed admission. No students from other schools allowed.

  • December 16: Girls Basketball home vs. CH – Sr. at 5:30pm and Jr. at 7:30pm / Wrestling Tournament at Crescent Heights
  • December 18: Wrestling Quad Meet at Forest Lawn High School
  • December 19: Boys Basketball home vs. CH – Sr. at 5:30pm and Jr. at 7:30pm
