Dear Students, Parents, Guardians and Caregivers,
Our Big Event for next week is, Meet the Teacher on Tuesday evening. You will have a chance to meet your child’s teachers and attend some important informational sessions on IPPs, K and E and EAL. There will be a short Welcome Presentation too. School Council will be hosting its AGM at 7:30pm all parents are invited. Lastly, we will also have many support agencies with booths set up in the cafeteria for you to visit. We hope that you can join us ask questions you may have and learn how you can support your child’s success at Lester B. Pearson.

Lunch Service
We would like to remind everyone that lunch service begins on Monday, September 16. We do have a food truck on-site for next week. Students who go to Macdonald’s, Village Square or Tim’s for lunch must still be back on time for afternoon classes.
School Fees
School fees can be paid online by logging into your MyCBE Account. You can also pay school fees in person at the Business Office at Pearson. Please wait until after September 6 before paying fees as student classes may change.
Reporting Absences
When you are calling in late or absent for your student, call 403-280-6565 and press 1 for the attendance line. Please give the following information: Spell your student’s first name and last name, give their grade, and reason for absence or lateness and a contact number that we have in PowerSchool.

Terry Fox Run
Our Connect and Regular Classes have been challenged to do theTerry Fox Walk and Run. We are trying as a school to complete Terry’s original run which ended in Manitoba. Our challenge to complete as a school the final 3400 kms by Sept 20 and to raise $3400 for a ‘Find a Cure for Cancer’.
Meet The Teacher – Tuesday, September 10 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm
Individualized Program Plans (IPPs)
Parents and students who have an IPP, there will be a meeting with Ms. Rye in room 1211 at 6:00pm.
Knowledge and Employability (K&E)
There is a meeting for families and students who have K&E programming or would like to consider K&E programming with Ms. Jessel in the Learning Commons at 6:30pm.
Welcome Presentation – Theatre at 7:00pm
Met our Support Agencies and Groups: CIWA, RICS, AIFY, Awotan, YMCA, In the Lead and more. Knowledge Keeper, Randy Turning Robe will be present to meet students and families. School Council will meet parents and hold its AGM at 7:30pm.
Clothing Drive
We will have a clothing, shoes and books drive on Wednesday, October 9. If you have any items you'd like to donate, please bring to the school on Wednesday, October 9.
